PHASE II OF RENOVATIONS COMPLETED AT THE HOLIDAY INN - DELAND, FLORIDA

Remodeling gives hotel full update of hotel rooms and exterior.

DeLand, Florida -- The Holiday Inn, DeLand has completed the second phase of a $1.5 million dollar, major renovation project that has updated the hotel's guest rooms and corridors to reflect a bright and traditional Florida style. The pale yellow walls highlight new drapery, carpet, bedspreads, and furnishings that are designed for the comfort of both the business and family travelers that frequent the hotel, while incorporating the colors and ambiance of the Northern Florida region.

Specific additions to the guest rooms include ergonomic desk chairs and large, well-lit work spaces that business travelers have come the expect. Oversized, comfortable lounge chairs and new, 25" televisions provide entertainment and a relaxing break from the day's busy schedule.

In the public areas of the hotel, the installation of custom designed corridor, meeting room and ballroom carpeting, lighting packages and wall treatments make the Holiday Inn DeLand a perfect setting for both business and social events. "While we enjoy a tremendous amount of local banquet and catering business, including almost 40 weddings per year, we always want to present a fresh, new image in our meeting rooms." Steve McIntire, General Manager of the DeLand Holiday Inn states, "For that reason, all of the lighting, wall coverings and accents in our ballroom areas will be completely redone."

Other improvements at the hotel include the addition of an exercise room, guest laundry and updates at the facility's outdoor, heated pool and recreation area.

Stage one of the renovation, completed earlier in 2000 incorporated a complete change out of the hotel's existing roofs and major air conditioning units. At the same time, a full waterproofing will be done to the exterior, and the exterior look and color scheme was completely updated.

Physical changes aren't the only new happenings at The Holiday Inn. Upgrades in services at the hotel include new menus, banquet equipment, uniforms, and guest service training programs for all employees.

The final stages of remodeling will encompass the completion of the ballroom, high speed Internet, business center, restaurant, and lobby areas.

The Holiday Inn Deland is owned by Milestone Hotel Partners, which operates the property under its management company, Milestone Hospitality International.
