JOB DESCRIPTION
Milestone Hospitality Management, a Baltimore-based hotel ownership/management company, seeks to add a Vice President-Business Development to procure third party management contracts. This position reports to the Executive Committee of Milestone Hospitality Management. Milestone currently owns and operates 15 hotels.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
• Prepare a strategic business development plan.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate third party management contracts for Milestone Hospitality Management.
• Ability to differentiate Milestone from competitors; exercise good judgment in assessing risks and rewards of new business opportunities.
• Network with hotel owners, lenders, attorneys, consultants, receivers, and special servicers.
• Initiate direct solicitation program.
• Attend industry events (owner conferences, investment conferences, brand conferences).
• Regularly update and report to Executive Committee.
• Understand competitive landscape and potential demand from various market participants.
• Travel is required in pursuit of business development.
• Coordinate management assignments with Operations Team.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY
• At least 10 years of hospitality experience (a combination of hotel management contract, franchise development and sales experience is preferred).
• Demonstrated record of identifying, sourcing, creating and executing new business opportunities.
